Mes recherches visent à approfondir notre compréhension des infections bactériennes négligées qui touchent de manière disproportionnée les personnes vivant dans des conditions de pauvreté et de marginalisation sociale. Plus précisément, j'étudie les infections bactériennes à culture négative, en particulier la bactérie Bartonella quintana transmise par les poux chez les populations en situation d'itinérance. La majeure partie de mes travaux est axée sur le développement et l'application d'outils moléculaires afin de mieux diagnostiquer ces infections souvent négligées. J'étudie la façon dont ces agents pathogènes se transmettent au sein des communautés et je travaille en étroite collaboration avec des partenaires communautaires et humanitaires pour identifier des approches pratiques en matière de prévention, de diagnostic et de soins. En intégrant les sciences de laboratoire, la recherche clinique et les partenariats communautaires, j'ambitionne de renforcer la surveillance des maladies infectieuses et de veiller à ce que les avancées en microbiologie diagnostique bénéficient aux populations mal desservies.Membre de l'équipe
