Congratulations to Anish Arora on receiving one of the prestigious 2021 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships valued at $ 50,000 for three years. The purpose of the scholarship is to help Canadian institutions attract highly qualified PhDl students based on academic excellence, research potential and leadership skills. The title of his project is: "Co-configuring & Piloting a New Model of Care Delivery for Migrant People Living with HIV in Montreal".

Anish K. Arora is a PhD student in Family Medicine and Primary Care at McGill University. He holds an MSc specialized in Medical Education from McGill University and an Honours BSc in Biology with a minor in Psychology from McMaster University. His doctoral work, supervised by Dr. Bertrand Lebouché, focuses on configuring and piloting a smartphone-based patient portal application, OPAL, for use by migrant people living with HIV and their multidisciplinary care providers at the Chronic Viral Illness Service of the McGill University Health Centre. As part of a new digital model of HIV care delivery, OPAL is predicted to improve HIV self-management by migrant patients, reduce impediments to their retention in care, and improve their satisfaction with care. Alongside mixed methods, Anish adopts a participatory research approach to meaningfully engage patients and other stakeholders in his work.
