The IDIGH Program is delighted to recognize the exceptional achievements of two of its trainees, Leah Flatman and Adam Mouncef, who have recently received prestigious awards for their research contributions.
Leah Flatman Receives the Emerging Investigator Excellence Award
Leah was honored with the Emerging Investigator Excellence Award by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) in the Reproductive Issues in Rheumatic Disorders category. Her award-winning abstract, titled: “Rotavirus Vaccine in Offspring Exposed to Tumour Necrosis Factor Inhibitors During the Third Trimester Does Not Increase Diarrhea-Associated Healthcare Events,” was recognized as an outstanding contribution by an early-career investigator.
The Emerging Investigator Excellence Award highlights exceptional abstracts presented by early-career investigators. Each abstract category is limited to just one award, underscoring the significance of Leah’s achievement.
Leah’s award-winning work was presented at the 2024 ACR Scientific Meeting, held from November 14–19 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. This prestigious annual event brings together leading experts in rheumatology to advance knowledge and innovation in the field.
Leah is co-supervised by Dr. Sasha Bernatsky and Dr. Évelyne Vinet, whose mentorship has supported this remarkable accomplishment.
