My research focuses on inflammatory bowel diseases, a group of immune-mediated inflammatory disorders marked by chronic inflammation of the intestinal mucosa. I investigate the role of innate and adaptive immunity and am interested in a variety of models to study the causes and mechanisms of these diseases, including studying the postoperative relapse – why some patients experience recurrence while others do not -, as well as response to advanced therapies. The overarching goals of my work are to better characterize disease subtypes, identify biomarkers that predict therapeutic outcomes, and uncover optimal combinations and novel therapeutic targets.Team Members
