Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health Program
The Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health Program is integrating research in infectious diseases, immunity and global health at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) into work groups with a strong translational focus.
The translational topics are (i) diagnostics, (ii) therapeutics and prevention and (iii) epidemiology and health outcomes. A distinguishing feature of the program are cross-disciplinary research teams encompassing basic biomedical, clinical and health outcomes research that jointly work on novel ways to improve patient well-being and population health in focus diseases.
Program initiatives are well integrated with ongoing research efforts of other groups at McGill University, as well as national and international centres and organizations dedicated to infectious and immune-mediated diseases. This provides the organizational framework for cutting edge research at the front lines of the most pressing global disease threats by program scientists.
